About The Author

Jeff Jaeger is a longtime student, collector, and author of the American muzzle-loading longrifle, with a particular focus on those made in his home state of Indiana. With more than thirty years of collecting experience, he is known for his research and dedication to preserving Indiana’s gunmaking history.

Jaeger’s photography and research have appeared in publications such as The American Society of Arms Collectors Journal, Muzzle Blasts, American Rifleman, and The Indianapolis Star, as well as in books and podcasts on muzzleloading and antique arms; he has also presented his work to the Kentucky Rifle Association, the American Society of Arms Collectors, the Sons of the American Revolution, the Grouseland Foundation, and several Indiana historical societies.
